Replaces your account's category taxonomy used by Purchase Categorisation — both receipt-level and product-level. Review what's currently stored with Export Product Categories.

Uploads replace, not merge

Each upload replaces your entire stored category list — categories missing from the file are removed. Always upload the complete taxonomy.

A minimal sample CSV:

categoryName,description
Food & Drink,Food and non-alcoholic drink purchases
Medication,Prescription and over-the-counter medicines
Toiletries,Personal-care and hygiene products

description is optional. Leave it empty when the category name already says what it means — less input often produces better categorisation. Add one only where the name alone is ambiguous.

categoryName values define the category labels used by categorisation. The service does not case-normalise these labels, so treat the exact uploaded spelling and casing as canonical and use it consistently when handling response values.
